Have you ever wanted to create a playlist that you could edit with others on the fly? There was a time I was on a road trip with some friends, and the two sitting up front got to control the music the entire way. The Spotify web player and desktop app share many similarities. They are almost identical. However, theres one significant difference in this case: the web player does not support collaborative playlist creation.

Heres how to create a collaborative playlist on the Spotify desktop app.

Open the Spotify desktop app and press the Create Playlist button on the left.

If you want, you can click on the auto-generated name of the playlist to edit it. In this case, Spotify generated the title My Playlist #1 for this new playlist.

Press the ᐧᐧᐧbutton to open the dropdown options menu for the playlist.Click onCollaborative playlist, which will add a checkmark next to that option. The playlist is now considered a collaborative playlist.
