Tweek reveals new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tier list for Version 11.0.1
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is reaching an interesting place with its meta game right now, as players have been competing on the current balance patch for over three months now and some offline tournaments are starting to pop up again.
TSM|Tweek, one of the most consistent top competitors in the Smash scene, has revealed his new tier list for Ver. 11.0.1 of Ultimate as part of his latest Tweek Talks podcast alongside the rest of his crew of TSM|Charles, VGBC|PinkFresh and Armada|Haz.
Starting out at the very top, Joker and Pikachu are a step above the rest of even the S tiers according to Tweek, but there's not a large enough gap to separate them into a different ranking right now.
While he previously had [and many players still have] Peach and Wario in S tier in his last rankings prior to Sephiroth's release, Tweek lowered their status to A tier because the longtime pro believes that they both have too many bad or difficult match ups to justify that placement any longer.
As someone who regularly plays Wario competitively and at tournaments, he says the character essentially gets away with hitting Waft and other confirms that technically aren't true / real, so he may start getting a good bit worse as we transition back to offline events and players recognize the gaps.
Septhiroth quickly became one of Tweek's favorite characters shortly after his release last year, and he apparently chose wisely considering he placed the Final Fantasy villain as the fifth-best fighter in Ultimate at the moment.
Perhaps Tweek's most surprising pick, however, is his placement of Sonic up in S tier because he thinks the speed demon might have the best win condition in the game currently. Once he gets a notable lead, the blue hedgehog can simply run and try to hold it since no one else can easily chase him down.
