Bi direction means it can send info both ways, it doesn't mean that's it an input port. Example, ARC, which is audio return channel. It sends audio back through an output port. Doesn't make it an input port. In 30 years of PC, I'm not sure I've ever seen a laptop with a native HDMI input port. Can you add one with USB/Mini PCI'express/expressport/thunderbolt/whatever connectors, sure, but built in, no. And IF, and a BIG IF, that a laptop did have an HDMI input, you would see 2 ports on the PC because one would certainly be an output port as well. -1 getochknSplendidModerator Jul 2, 20061,623021,960367 Mar 14, 2016
No. No laptops really except one or two very high end rare models support HDMI input. 0 M Munish_1CommendableMar 13, 2016301,5100 Mar 14, 2016

Munish_1 : getochkn : No. No laptops really except one or two very high end rare models support HDMI input. but accourding to hdmi 1.4a standard it is an bidirectional hdmi port and also support ethernet for internet sharing Only your laptop manual can give this information. Just because a standard exists doesn't mean it's being utilized. I pretty much guarantee you have no HDMI input. *Microsoft has talked about streaming from XBOX to PC but I don't know where they are at with that, plus it would add latency. **A separate monitor is your best bet (with HDMI input), and speakers and/or passthrough for desktop speakers. Or small HDTV. 0 rgd1101TitanModerator Nov 7, 201116,98012386,7003,285 Mar 14, 2016

The xbox one to windows pc streaming option works really well. You just need to install the app and away you go as long as your network has the bandwidth... wireless n or hardwired is what I have tried. 0 getochknSplendidModerator Jul 2, 20061,623021,960367 Mar 14, 2016
