Hi, I'm running Windows Server Standard 2012 R2 and would like to test the improved WAN connectivity with RDP 8.
I'm testing from Windows 7 with RDP 8 installed.
All RDP roles are installed on the same server. I can connect to the server straight via RDP but when trying to force it via the RD gateway I get an error message:

Remote Desktop can't connect to the remote computer "xxxx" for one of these reasons:

1] Your user account is not listed in the RD Gateway's permission list
2] You might have specified the remote computer in NetBios format [for example, computer 1], but the RD Gateway is expecting an FQDN or IP address format [for example, computer1.fabrikam.com or 157.60.0.1].

I've verified I'm on the permission list.
Ports TCP 443, 3389 and UDP 3391 are open.
I'm using a self signed certificate which shows as untrusted when adding the RD Gateway under deployment settings. I did not create the certificate in IIS.
The certificate CN subject is set to my server FQDN - CDERP01.mydomain.com.
I have not created a DNS record, but have entered the record in my host file on the RDP client.
On my machine the FQDN resolves to the IP address of my RDP server.

I've been trying to make this work for 3 days now and don't know what else to look at.
Would really appreciate any help or advise what I'm doing wrong.

    Thanks.
