.Net Framework 3.5 not installing Windows 7

LabChart 7 for Windows requires the .NET Framework 3.5 to be installed in order for it to install and run properly.  The .NET Framework 4.5 is included with Windows 8 and installed with the operating system. However, the .NET Framework 3.5 is not automatically installed with Windows 8. To run applications, such as LabChart 7 for Windows, that require the .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 8, you must enable version 3.5 on your computer.  For step by step instructions on how to install the .Net Framework 3.5 on your Windows 8 computer, please review the Microsoft help topic linked to below:

Hello,

I have installed a software and it keeps crushing on me!  I have contacted who owns the software and they said that i need

.net framework 3.5 installed!

Now the problem is that i can't install it!  If i use the file from Microsoft site witch is about 2.73mb it starts and then 3 sec. later goes away!

if i use other file witch is 2.82mb it starts loads ,then crushes ! see pic attached! (pic111) ,  I have enabled  or turned the windows feature on and still no go! (see pic2).

Also did sfc /scannow and have that log file but i can't really read it to see if all windows files are okay.

I have Windows 7 64bit Ultimate.

Any help will appreciate!

Please post the sfc /scnnow log.

To find sfc /scannow log, type cmd in the Search programs and files box,

cmd will appear above the search box under Apps., right click on it and choose Run as administrator, this will open the Elevated Command Prompt.  This will look simlare to the image below.

.Net Framework 3.5 not installing Windows 7

copy and paste the following in the Search programs and files box, then press Enter.

findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt

This will place a new icon on the desktop titled sfcdetails.  Click on this to open the log, copy it and paste it in your topic.

Download and run Microsoft's .NET Framework Repair Tool, then try downloading the 3.5 again.

Windows 7 already includes the .NET Framework 3.5.1 as an OS component. This means you get the .NET Framework 2.0 SP2, 3.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 plus a few post 3.5 SP1 bug fixes already integrated. The features of 3.5 SP1 can be added or removed via Control Panel >> Programs and Features >> Turn windows features on or off:

.

If you need to repair the .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7, you will need to use instructions like the ones in this blog post. (Also applies to Windows 7)

I had forgotten that it is integrated in Windows 7.  But I would still suggest running the repair tool.

See my attached log files, And i see 2 errors inside, maybe from that  mscorier.dll or mscoriers.dll?

I think i have read some where and this i re-named that file as i was trying to figure out

wit this .net install problem.

Thank you for your help.

I don't understand why you're trying to install DotNet 3.5.1 when it is already installed as a component of the OS. Your SFC scan (first one) shows repairs were done (relating to DotNet):

Have you tried re-installing the software? (The one that needed 3.5.1)

Thank you,

I understand that this thread is old, but it's still relevant even in 2020!

I, too, could not install .NET 3.5, until Union_Thug's reminders got me to thinking.

I downloaded Speccy free and ran it and after its scan, selected "Operating System" and this is what I already have installed in my OEM WIndows 7 SP1 64 bit:

.NET Frameworks installed
    v3.5 SP1
    v3.0 SP2
    v2.0 SP2

So... For anyone in the future, please try this. Even though .NET 3.5 does not show up in Control Panel > Installed Programs, it's there! I was re-inventing the wheel and didn't know it! Thanks again, MS, for not showing the .NET installs in the Control Panel

Program Is Not Listed in Add/Remove Programs After Installation

Symptoms

After you install a program on your computer, the program is not listed in the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel. Also, other programs that are installed on your computer and that were previously listed in Add/Remove Programs may no longer be listed.

Cause

This problem can occur if the program you installed creates a registry key name that is longer than 60 characters in length. Add/Remove Programs only lists program names it locates up to the point it encounters this situation.
