Ruin is the name of the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach DLC expansion set to be released for free in 2023.

Development

Production on the DLC expansion began around early 2022, and was codenamed "Chowda" as discovered on the Security Breach game's SteamDB page.

The DLC was publicly announced on May 30, 2022,[1] with the promotional teaser launched. It was confirmed that the DLC will be a free add-on update and was expected to release in 2023. The teaser reveals that the player will take the role of a new, different protagonist, and will take place in the ruins of Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, possibly serving as the aftermath of the Burntrap Ending. In the background of the teaser there are visible doors in place of the elevators. There is a set of red eyes in the top left corner that could belong to either Vanny, Moon, or the Blob. As hinted by a more broken version of Glamrock Chica who appeared at the left side of the image, the glamrock animatronics were revealed to have survived from the Underground destruction but were left horribly damaged to the point they barely resemble their original selves.

Theories/Speculation

• It is unknown who this new protagonist is, but because it appears to a young girl who bears a resemblance to a young version of Vanny and Vanessa, she may have a connection to either of the characters or both of them.
• The glowing red eyes seen on the top left corner imply that Vanny, the Blob, or Moon will be the main antagonist of this story.
• Gregory and Glamrock Freddy might return in this story or make a cameo appearance, as the monitors in the teaser show Gregory.
  • Gregory may have returned to resolve the unfinished business in the fallen Pizzaplex, but was possibly captured.
  • He potentially could have also never made it out of the Pizzaplex after it was destroyed in the Burntrap Ending.
    • It is possible that this story took place before the scene that shows Glamrock Freddy and Gregory watching the sunrise.
• The protagonist may receive help from another character, possibly Vanessa.
  • The ally could also be one of the animatronics, but this is unlikely as they may still be hostile.
  • Vanessa's whereabouts were unknown after the Burntrap ending, but she may return in this story.
  • It is possible that the ally is Glamrock Freddy, who may have been separated from Gregory.
  • The ally could possibly be Glamrock Bonnie, but this may be false as the teaser does not show him.
• It is possible that the new protagonist may be friends with Gregory or knows him, as she looks the same age as him.
  • She could be working with Gregory to help with his unfinished business in the Pizzaplex.
• Burntrap and the Blob might return and will reprise their role as the main antagonists.
  • It is unknown what happened to Burntrap after the Blob dragged him away, but there is a possibility that he may have survived or was absorbed by it.
