External graphics card for laptop reddit

I have an upgraded Lenovo Thinkpad T430s laptop and the specs (below) are alright other than the graphics card, since the computer's integrated graphics are sadly not otherwise upgradeable. I heard that they can be 70-80% as good as proper graphics cards, but I'm a bit of a beginner when it comes to choosing what I need. Currently, Minecraft runs at 200fps (60 recording) and CSGO only runs at 25fps. Ideally I'd like to be able to record and stream CSGO and play higher graphics games (Cities Skylines, GTA, etc) at 60-100fps+. Price range preferably not over £200 ($260). Also, regarding what ports and connections I'd need and if I need any extra kit. Thanks!

Current Specs: Intel i5-3320M 2.6Ghz

8GB RAM

Intel HD Graphics 4000

Seems like every company under the sun is releasing them. Yet, I've never met or let alone seen a picture of anyone using one. Does anyone use one or know some one that uses one? Or is this just another gimmick?

Hi guys, yesterday I bought a Lenovo laptop and I am really happy with the overall performance of it. It has 8 gm ram, 512gb SSD, i5 processor, and windows 11. However, It doesn't have a dedicated graphics card. I had to compromise with it because of my budget. But, now I regret it because, I am not able to play good games. well, lets come to the point. So, my question is, "is there any way I could add an external graphics card to my machine?"

I want to install a external graphics card on my laptop LG Gram 15, i5 5200U, 8GB Ram, 1Tb SSD, FullHD 60Hz panel 1920x1080. Its internal graphics card is Intel HD graphics 5500.

I intend to use the mini-pcie port where my wi-fi fi card connects to plug the graphics card connection.

So for that I will need to buy:

- EXP GDC Beast (versions 8,0, 8.4d or 8,5c depending on the graphics card chosen)

- Graphics Card

- Power Supply (500-700W)

My doubts are:

- Due that I will using this as my primary gaming laptop to play Fortnite which graphic card should I buy?

- Will I need to buy an external monitor? The output can be seen in the laptop monitor? I prefer use my laptop monitor.

I don't know too much about the difference in between laptop parts and PC parts and so I'm fairly ignorant to all of this and figured this would be the best place to ask. So whenever I've looked at potentially building a PC, I am constantly looking at stuff that will be subpar to what's already in my laptop, minus the graphics card. I bought this laptop about 2 years ago to use for graphic design and so I definitely went over what I should have spent then and I'm just wondering if I could get a thunderbolt external GPU case and get a nice graphics card would it give me a noticeable performance increase? I'm not sure if the fact that my i7 and 16 gigs of RAM are part of my laptop is super hindering because from what I see if I had those same things in a tower with a nice graphics card, I should have great performance on everything. Is there something that I'm missing here because I feel like I'm probably oversimplifying this and would just like an informed opinion :)

I have a Lenovo C940 15.6" laptop with an i7-9750H and an NVIDIA GTX 1650 and 16gb of RAM.

I have a Lenovo S145 and I'm not sure if i can connect an external graphics card to my laptop.

If so, how?

Update: Thank you u/internetuserc for the idea!

I found a local version and i am gonna buy it!

I am a pretty casual PC gamer - mostly building titles like Cities: Skylines and shit like that, with AAA titles occasionally thrown in. Frame rate isn’t hugely important to me, but I want to be able to run games on higher graphics settings... ...on my 2015 MacBook Pro. Don’t judge me. It’s what I knew at the time. I run Win 10 on it, but with on board graphics lower settings are all it can manage.

Would it be worth getting an external graphics card? Eventually I’ll build a semi-decent gaming rig but in the mean time I have bills to pay. One day I’ll ascend, but is this a good way for me to pretend until I do?

My brother gave me his old Razer Core X and I have a Dell G7 7700 with a RTX GPU, the GPU that I have in the Core is a GTX 1080, I am unable to get any life to show with this laptop. It is plug and play with another laptop without issue. I used the same thunderbolt slot on the Dell with a DP on the other end for my monitor. I have downloaded the latest dell drivers and installed the GTX 1080 graphics drivers as well. I am open to any suggestion and help.

Windows 10 21H2

I7 -10750H

Dell G7 7700

Thunderbolt driver 1.41.1193.0

I think this question might have been asked to death but I would really appreciate some insight into this. Im currently rocking a dell g5 5587 with a 1050ti, even though its perfect for everyday use it starting to struggle with some games(2077) and rendering (lumion) I was wondering would it be more cost-effective to get a new laptop or an egpu and if so with what card should I pair it with. Sadly because of the type of my work a desktop isn't an option as I need something more portable.

Any advice would be appreciated.
