I began using this Dermalogica Overnight skin clearing gel approximately six weeks ago along with a range of other Dermalogica products that were 'prescribed' by my local Dermalogica counetr's beauty therapist. The beauty therapist gave me a sample of this product which lasted me a week. I was very satisfied with its results, so returned to the counter a week later and purchased the 50ml full-size product for $75. Show
I have oily, pimple-prone skin that is also extremely sensitive and this product does not exacerbate any of these conditions. I get black heads and pimples in my t-zone, so the beaty therapist recommended that I use this product there at night. She also advised me not to put moisturiser over the areas on my face where I have put this product. It does not work 'over night' as such, but it is effective at preventing blackheads at appearing over night. Overtime it does reduce the amount of new pimples I was getting, and almost entirely stopped me from getting blackheads. I have also been using Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant, which I believe is also part of the reason of my disappearing blackheads. I have not used it in the past week as I have not had any pimples to clear up. I have been using coconut oil as my moisturiser at night, but if I do have any exacerbations of pimples or blackheads I will begin using Overnight clearing gel again in the affected areas, with Dermalogica's Active moist in the areas applied in the areas where I have not applied Overnight Clearing Gel. Overnight Clearing gel contains salicyclic acid, and acid that prevents pimples and tea tree oil, a natural anti bacterial. The product has a strong scent of tea tree oil, and contains no added fragrances or colours, so therefore the tea tree oil scent is natural. It has a thin, gel-like consistency with is easy to apply to the necessary areas of the face. I love Dermalogica's simple grey and white packaging. It makes it clear and obvious what the product is. It has an upright bottle with a screw top lid, and a pointy 'squrty' top to expel the product. You need to tip the bottle upside down to get the product out and sometimes too much product comes out, which is a little frustrating. I would highly recommend this product to someone who suffers from acne or has pimple-prone skin, and also especially if their skin is sensitive like mine. It is extremely pricey, but it is effective, making it worth the hefty price tag. If you're already using something that is effective for you, it's probably not worth forking out $75 for a full-size product. This product is coming soon! Excellent spot actionOver the summer due to a lazy cleansing routine, hest and sunscreen, I developed lots of tiny forehead bumps which poodles awful. Excellent itemHaving breakout prone skin that is at times very oily I was converted to dermalogica after 20 years of clinique . Clinique just wasn't working well neither did a Korean brand, benefit estee lauder or lancome . These are all great brands but unfortunately my skin didn't like them. My 12 year old daughter also was having a terrible breakout on her forehead. I only need this product about 5 nights a month but it really is brilliant. Not overly impressedWhen i purchased this product i was so excited by reading other reviews as i've suffered with acne for over 10 years and nothing has ever worked. From day one of using this gel i noticed a difference, my spots had dried up a lot and were looking better...after three days of using it however, i started getting seriously dry skin around my nose, ears and down my neck...and i wasn't putting the gel on these areas. I have oily/combination skin and it's literally never been dry. I now only use it once a week, it keeps my acne calm but hasn't got rid of my spots. I won't be repurchasing as my skin is clearly too sensitive for this product. When I notice a blemish in time, if I apply this at night it's gone by morning. And on days I work at home I also use this during the day on larger areas when I get hormonal breakouts. ACNEI have tried everything for acne (antibiotics, topical antibiotics, diets etc) However I recently went for a microzone treatment at Dermalogica and the lady recommended this.
