Restate it in your own words, state whether or not you agree with it, and explain your position.

Identify the American ideals expressed in the Declaration of Independence.

We are born free and with rights. We were not going to let one person have all the power. We were going to be able to say what we thought. We were going to be able to protect our families, and we were going to be able to go to what ever church we wanted. We wrote these down and made them hard to change so we would always have them.

Discuss how compromise made it possible to draft the Constitution of the United States.

there was a big fight between the big and little states. The little states didn't want the large states to control them. The big states didn't want a few people in the small states to rule everyone. What happened after the Constitution was approved?

After ratification, Congress set dates for the first federal elections and the official implementation of the Constitution. Elections were set to take place from Monday, December 15, 1788, to Saturday, January 10, 1789, and the new government was set to begin on March 4, 1789.

When did the Constitution actually go into effect?

On June 21, 1788, New Hampshire became the ninth state to ratify the document, and it was subsequently agreed that government under the U.S. Constitution would begin on March 4, 1789.

What had to happen in order for the Constitution to be ratified?

The founders set the terms for ratifying the Constitution. They bypassed the state legislatures, reasoning that their members would be reluctant to give up power to a national government. Instead, they called for special ratifying conventions in each state. Ratification by 9 of the 13 states enacted the new government.
